Programs
Infants
Our nurturing environment with individualized care plans provides a safe healthy place for your child to grow and learn. Your child’s teacher will work with you to determine a plan of care, including nap and feeding times that are best suited for your infant and family. Children participate in a variety of learning experiences to foster their development, including bible story time, gross motor play, and baby sign language.
Toddler/Twos
Children in our toddler/2s program engage in developmentally appropriate, student interest led learning experiences that allow them to explore the world around them. Teachers build routines and guide children based on their strengths, interests, and needs. This program prepares young learners for the instruction they will receive in our preschool program, while maintaining a child-directed approach. Biblical teaching and play based learning are highly focused on.
Preschool
Our full day preschool program eliminates the need for wrap-around care, and provides children with the foundational skills needed to be successful prior to kindergarten. Our preschool staff have Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary or Early Childhood Education and possess the training and knowledge required to provide the highest quality education and care. In addition to utilizing Creative Curriculum, Iowa Early Learning Standards, and Teaching Strategies Gold (all used by the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Programs), teachers also continue to support children’s spiritual journey through stories and activities from Concordia’s One-In-Christ curriculum.
School age
The CEC offers before and after school care for elementary students in the Alburnett Community School District. The district bus stops right outside our front door. We open at 7:00 and close at 5:30, which allows school age parents to pick up and drop off at the time most convenient for them.
In addition to before and after school care, we provide a full day summer program for school age children from June-August. This is open to families from any school district.
